Art. Department is the name of Arthur Carey’s independent graphic design practice. The most recently published project is the identity and new website for London-based film production company Nice Productions.
Founded in January 2015 and based in Haggerston, Art. Department’s services include devising visual identity systems and brand positioning, website design and development, art direction, print and publication design, signage, wayfinding, packaging and exhibition design.
Arthur studied at Leeds College of Art, and whilst in West Yorkshire had the fortune of learning from and working alongside the likes of Joe Gilmore (Qubik), Matthew Hodson (Matthew the Horse) and Aaron Skipper.
Since 2013 Arthur has lived in London, working under the direction of an array of fantastic mentors. These include Harry Woodrow (Multistorey), Alex Ostrowski (YCN Studio & Lovers), Alex Hunting and Spencer Wilton as well as Kirsty Carter, Emma Thomas and Jason Wolfe (A Practice for Everyday Life).
